Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. Tourism Australia “LOSE yourself in the movie, FIND yourself in Australia” Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes") will begin at 12:00am Eastern Standard Time (EST) on November 3, 2008 and end at 11:59pm Pacific Time (PST) on January 9, 2009 ("Sweepstakes Period"). Sweepstakes is sponsored by Tourism Australia, 6100 Center Drive, Suite 1150, Los Angeles CA 90045 (the "Sponsor") who is solely responsible for all aspects of this Sweepstakes.
Eligibility: Sweepstakes is open only to individuals who are (i) legal residents of the United States and living in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, and (ii) are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, officers, directors and representatives of Sponsor, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and Administrator (see below), their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees, service providers, advertising and promotion agencies, those involved in the production, development, implementation or handling of the Sweepstakes, any agents acting on behalf of the above entities, as well as the immediate family members (parents, children, siblings, spouses) and/or persons living in the same household (whether related or not) of each are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited, taxed or otherwise restricted by law. Chances of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.
How to Enter:
Participants may enter the Sweepstakes by simply completing the basic online Sweepstakes registration (name, address, email address, date of birth) available at http://www.americansweepsonline.com/australia/rules.html. All entries must be received by 11:59pm (PST) on January 9, 2009.
Limit one entry per person/household.
Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any person or email address that submits more than one entry. Incomplete entries, or those containing incorrect information, will be voided. Proof of sending or submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. Use of any automated system to submit entries is prohibited and will result in disqualification of all such entries as well as the entrant. By participating in this Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor which is final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and none will be acknowledged or returned.

Internet Limitations of Liability: If for any reason, this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process (if applicable), and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes in whole or in part, at any time, without notice and award the prize using all non-suspect eligible entries received as of the termination/suspension date. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. The Sponsor also is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure or delay of any email or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof. Sponsor is not responsible for any damage to an entrant’s system which is occasioned by participating in this Sweepstakes or by downloading any information necessary to participate in the Sweepstakes. Sponsor also is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in the Sweepstakes. Any dispute or claim arising out of the play of this Sweepstakes, or any disputes with site users which arise as a result of the use of this website, shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York, without respect to conflicts of laws principles. Any such claim shall be brought and maintained in the federal or state courts of the State of New York. If any provisions of the Official Rules are determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, such determination shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for two (2) people to Australia. The trip includes standard round trip airfare for two (2) people from either Los Angles LAX Airport, or San Francisco SFO Airport, to Australia. The trip is composed of ten (10) nights of accommodation throughout Australia (three [3] nights in Sydney, two [2] in Alice Springs, two [2] in Ayers Rock, and three [3] in Cairns). Also included are all domestic flights in Australia with a coach transfer from Alice Springs to Ayers Rock. The trip must be taken between February 16, 2009 and December 1, 2009 (Subject to availability. Blackout dates may apply.). The Grand Prize Winner and his/her travel companion MUST travel together on all flights. All travel must be completed within 15 days from the date your travel commences. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. The Grand Prize may not be sold to, bartered with, purchased or utilized by a third party. Travel is only valid in regards to the aforementioned destinations. Travel to Los Angeles LAX airport or San Francisco SFO airport is not included in the Grand Prize and is the responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner and his/her Travel Companion. However, the travel arrangements are subject to change at the Sponsor’s discretion. Government and airport taxes and any other airline surcharges imposed on passengers are covered by Tourism Australia. The winners are responsible for the cost of an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) which is approx $25 each. The Grand Prize has an Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of $4,500. The Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value in the event that any aforementioned prize is not available. All decisions by Sponsor as to prize winner and prize are final.
Drawing and Notification: The winner will be selected from among all eligible entries received by either entry method, in a random drawing conducted on or about January 24, 2009 by American Sweepstakes & Promotion Co. (“the Administrator”) an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received by either entry method. Potential winner will be notified by phone and/or mail. Upon initial notification and verification of potential winner, confirmation will be sent to winner in writing via USPS mail, or other home delivery service of Sponsor’s choice.
Prize Conditions: The winner is solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes and/or any other fees/costs associated with the prize or receipt of the prize. The winner will be required to complete, sign, have notarized and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability / Publicity Release (unless prohibited) within 14 days of written notification or prize winner will be disqualified. Travel companion must also complete, sign, have notarized and return a travel release. Travel companion must be 18 years of age or older. In the event of noncompliance with the Official Rules, if a winner cannot be reached at the address/phone number on winner’s entry within 5 days of the first attempt, or if the prize or prize notification is returned as unclaimed or undeliverable, an alternate winner will be selected. The prize will be only awarded to a verified winner. The winner’s entry and acceptance of the prize constitutes permission (except where prohibited) for the Sponsor to use said winner’s name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice and address (city and state), in all forms of media, in perpetuity, without notice or further compensation.
Terms & Conditions: By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to release Sponsor, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, Administrator and their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, retailers, distributors and advertising and promotion agencies, and its and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, shareholders and agents from any and all liability, loss, damage or injuries of any kind sustained in connection with their participation in the Sweepstakes or from their acceptance, receipt, possession and/or use or misuse of the prize, or for any typographical or other error in the printing, offering or announcement of the prize. Entrants further acknowledge that said parties have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize, including, but not limited to, its quality or fitness for a particular purpose. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the Sweepstakes mechanics and/or implementation will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. By participating, entrants agree to waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Sweepstakes or these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant that Sponsor determines, in its sole discretion, violates these Official Rules. By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants agree that the Sponsor has the right to send marketing, promotional, or other materials and information from the participating marketing partners.
